WWA JV State Finals - January 24, 2026
The Wisconsin Wrestling Association is continuing to evolve the WWA JV State Series. Our goal as a WWA Committee is for all wrestling programs in our great state of Wisconsin to find positive value in participating in the WWA JV Series.
Here are some important changes for the 2026 JV State Series.
#1: Region Sites (12 Region Sites)
In 2026 we are moving from 8 region sites to 12 region sites. The advantage to adding more host sites include, decreased # of teams and athletes at each region site which results in a faster region event, decreased overall travel across the state to attend the region event.
#2: New Region Assignments and Contracts
Due to the new region format please review the 2026 JV State Series Assignments for your teams region placement in the WWA JV State Series Qualifier. Please check with your Athletic Director regarding the contract. *Requests for move region sites will not be accepted (similar method as the WIAA assignments). Make sure to make arrangements (sign contract, scheduling, bussing) to attend your region assignment in 2026. 1st Contracts will be sent out on or around April 1st.
#3: Qualifiers (36 JV State Qualifiers; 3 from each site)
In 2026 we will move back to the top three athletes from each region, advancing to the WWA JV State Tournament 1/24 @ Wausau West (In 2025 we took the top 4 wrestlers from each region). In totality 36 wrestlers will advance to the JV State Championships. We will NOT be replacing wrestlers at the JV State Finals unless the number of wrestlers in each bracket drops below 24.
